david_bkg Forum administrator | I had an idea. How I can to stretched a Kool Kombi, with a bus or transporter look?? And it is the answer. Mixing a Kool Kombi and a Surfin' Skool Bus!! With firsts cuts I take off the "face" of the SSBus, and put it from a Kool, trying to make a top chop: I wasn't happy with the result, so... I cut a little bit more the plastic parts of the bus and a new Kool face: It looks better, and add the bumper of the Kool: closer look of the front: For the rear I thought that the better choice was to use the Kool end, and cut the SSBus ass and put the Kool part: *note that the window and frame part (with the engine) are from the Bus Side view: to complete the end of the bus, I put all the parts from the Kool: I glued all the parts and filled off the paint: epoxied both ends, and some side parts for a more smooth look: firs primer coat to see mistakes: First coat of yellow (with Tamiya spray can): To be sure what look I want, I made a sketch (note the diferent color in the wheelwells): All yellow paint was the option I choiced. I put Tamiya Lemon Yellow, with brush and handpainted: *the rims are stock but after a strong sanded with the dremel For a better "school look" put a number on top, and a black line. Wheels were painted yellow, surfboards brown. Some details in silver and all the lights detailed. It was one of my partners in the 5th Custom Contest in the HWCAForum |
